HashKey DID pledges to offset its carbon footprint using Renewable Energy Certificates(RECs) generated based on trusted and verifiable green data collected through the Arkreen Network. arkreen is raising its seed round from tier-1 Web3 VCs and is about to roll out its pre-testing phase in Q4 2022.
Enabled by Web3(economics) and IoT+Blockchain(tech), arkreen is building a network to economically collect trusted distributed renewable energy-generation data and convert it into a Renewable Energy Certificate(REC) for sale to anyone eager to participate in their carbon neutrality objectives.
From an economic perspective, Web3 offers a cost-effective and efficient manner to bootstrap global physical infrastructure by high magnitude. The Energy sector accounts for almost 75% of greenhouse gas emissions globally, and renewable energy is essential to help emissions deduction. In contrast, the lack of interconnections among distributed renewable energy resources blocks their viability to benefit from this valuable participation.
Looking at it from a technological perspective, Arkreen Network offers a physical hardware mining device, a “Smart Data Logger,” for collecting data from solar panels. Equipment owners will connect to Arkreen Network by attaching a mining device to the solar PV panel’s inverter. This helps equipment owners collect green energy data, which can become monetized and converted into RECs. This technical process enables owners to enjoy incentive rewards and service income.
